It's also worth doing in case you find you have damaged yourself when the adrenaline wears off. It should keep HR off your back if it was a recorded work injury.

A very long time ago, I marched rapidly onto a wet patch on Ward 3 at the LGI, taking flight and landing on my well padded bum.

This was witnessed by Sister, who insisted on filling out the Accident Book and a trip to A&E.

Can never see "Sister" in a hospital context without remembering Hattie Jacques.

I remember what was done with the daffodil, too.

I think nurses still wore caps then.

Funny, though: our local Super U (as in Unilever) recently degraded their standard bogroll to Breakthrough Level 2: use doubled or suffer the consequences.  Maybe there's a covert war on to dominate Europe's derrières.
Nowt to do with Unilever except as a customer.

Also, I've got the snot and the GP has used me as a pin-cushion but failed to draw blood, so I'm not in the best of moods.

It doesn't help that doctors tend to be poor at taking blood, compared to nurses.

Indeed.  I've got difficult veins, so tend to ask for the most senior nurse ("you know, the one you're all a bit scared of") in blood-letting / cannula insertion situations.  But I was there already for prescription jibble and it would have saved everyone time if she'd managed to get some blood there and then.  I'm not squeamish, just bruised.

In and out this morning with less-senior nurse in under two minutes.  She found the vein on the first attempt, with no digging around.

Ugbear, sorry to hear that, but also there is never, really, a good time to lose your job.

Good luck with the job hunting.

Good point, but there is a "less bad" time - new mortgage completion date is in a couple of weeks, plus I promised the divorce solicitor she would be paid by the end of March.... Bah!

When people with the job title "Cost Transformation Analyst" start asking you to explain how your job works it's not a good sign...... :-(

Anybody with the job title "Cost Transformation Analyst" should very probably be ashamed of themselves. But that doesn't help you. Sorry.

Probably a lean systems bod looking at cutting out non added value activities, eleminating duplication etc. Not necessarily something to be unduly concerned about. Customer interface is usually a key area with service organisations.
