Strava on older android phone
« on: 18 May, 2017, 07:20:46 pm »
I have just done a factory reset on my old HTC Desire One X android 4.2.2, as expected losing all the apps, Strava included.

After updating the android software to the latest versions of 4.2.2 (admittedly now superseded by many later versions) all apps I wanted have been downloaded again from Google Play, no problem; except for Strava 4.6, I now get a "your device isn't compatible  with this version", a Google search advising I now need android 4.3 and above . I assume I had previously downloaded an older version of Strava, current at the time that worked with my older android software?

So, am now Stravaless until I upgrade to a newer phone or am I simply missing a simple click to reinstate as was? It's no deal breaker if I can't, but would like it back if possible.

You could get an APK for an older version here, then try installing that: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/strava-inc/strava-running-and-cycling-gps/

Or you could probably install a newer version of Android on your phone, though that might be complicated.

Yeah, my 2011 Motorola Defy is in a similar state, only worse.  Motorola's proprietary version of Android doesn't allow updates, and Android Market no longer exists. :(
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight
