A new Endura waterproof jacket. I think the old one lasted 3 or 4 years, and is less than hi-vis now. The new one is very yellow!

New pedals (with clips), bottle cage and inner tube for my new Cannondale. Did I mention I have a new Cannondale?

Also, bought last week but worn for the first time today (while on my new Cannondale - did I mention that?) arm warmers. Me. Blimey. :o

Fourth hand, 4 x Sh inner gear cables, bottom bracket tool, and chain splitter. Also looking at front lights atm and particularly the Fenix LD 20.

A couple of bottle cage bolts to replace the one that went missing yesterday, and some chain lube from a shop in Grantown-on-Spey. The bike shop also sold cake! :D

The week before last: A new club jersey.
Last week: A Schwalbe Marathon+ for the Pompino, which is now almost fully winterised
Saturday: An S-Sun L130 light as my new commuter light.  For £18 from Spa Cycle (plus postage if you buy online, but I was passing through Harrogate), my initial impression is that these are a steal.  It's got side slits and a relatively wide front face - both good for visibility - and build quality seems good. The mount can swivel from side to side, a feature which may prove useful or may need aralditing solid in a few months' time.  I'll do a long term review of it after a few months, but for now it's my new recommended light for every urban rider out there and will be a useful backup to my Fenix on longer rides.

A Surly 42T 110PCD stainless steel chain ring to replace a TA 41T 110PCD chain ring which did not last very long.

I'm playing with my new Ixon IQ. The focussed beam should compliment the Hope Vision 1 quite well.

A front light from On One which I needed. The battery holder mounts behind the bottle cage. For the money (£20) looks good and a good beam, may get another for the hack bikes I have. Will see how long battery life is.

Also 2 merino tops and a pair of gloves seemed to have added themselves to the order.

Marathon Winters, from ebay.

I was going to buy from Wiggle, but they are 'out of stock', and I remember how long it took them to fill Clarion's order (8 week wasn't it), so I've shelled out an extra £2 per tyre to get them from somewhere that actually has stock.

Plus tubes. Must stop buying stuff! :hand:

I've also bought some Marathon Winters - a pair of 700c and, rather optimistically, a single 20" (get thee to winstanleysbmx.com, ye hardcore darksiders).

With any luck this will prove to be an investment in a short, mild winter.  With slightly less luck, they should pay for themselves in reduced clothing and physioterrorism bills.

Not yet, but in light of recent events I shall shortly be ordering an n+0.5 - my LBS has just waved a very nice deal on a Bike Friday Tikit under my nose. Bastards! :)

Just picked up from the post office (07:30 this am) some finishing kit for a full-bounce comedy bike.

As follows: Full set of v-brakes, handlebar shims for o/s stem, some headset spacers, a VERY cheap rear mech and a 25.4mm seat post.

This bike will definitely NOT be light. It will, however, be solid and bomb proof, just the thing for a learner who's a tad lumpen. If he gets to like it I'll build him something lighter.
VELOMANCER

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

Although, strictly speaking, I bought it about 10 days ago, my RoadID bracelet turned up today.

At least now my parents can stop nagging me about not having anything that identifies me as diabetic, and people can wonder at what 'sic fret crustulum' means1 :)

A spoke key from Urbane Cyclist in Toronto

They're what a bike shop should be: dark, uneven floors, lovely bikes everywhere, a parts department at the bike and friendly knowlegeable staff. Worth a visit if you're ever in Toronto
