I am hoping I can break in my Brooks while riding on it!

Just got a duty invoice for the last pair of decent shorts on the planet.  Humbug.

I've never quite understood these companies issuing an invoice for the duty after they've delivered the goods.  I suspect that if you don't pay it, it wouldn't be worth their effort to chase you up.  I wonder why they don't hang onto stuff until you've paid up, like the Post Office does?
Actually, it is rocket science.

A set of rollers. Sounds worryingly like I may delve into the murky world of "training".

I bought my first ever item of Rapha gear... they had their caps on sale (the grey ones with the stripe) and I have always liked them. Given their normal prices, it's probably my last ever item of Rapha gear too.

Can I come round and play with your rollers please?
Sure. You can hold my bike while I scream like a girl and fail to turn the pedals.
We spent far too long this evening putting them together and now I am too tired to ride... As in, I tried, screamed etc as above and gave up.

I spent an "amusing" evening in Charlotte's Sekrat Bunker, when we did the light testing, with Charlotte on rollers, testing out Dynamo lights. :-\

It didn't encourage me to ever try out rollers!

I just put in some orders to ChainReaction for some red bottle cages to go onto n+1, a computer for it as well, some Garmin GPS mounts, and a heap of inner tubes.

ChainReaction have been doing pretty well out of me recently!

Tip for learning to ride rollers: put them in a narrow doorway at about elbow or shoulder location and use a big gear. More speed helps.

...and I just bought three 10-speed Mavic chains at £9-45, instead of their original price of £37 each!

Two new Cateye Uno lights for my bike, after some tosser stole the last one.  Positioned either side of the Klickfix mount, it looks as if my bike has escaped from the film Short Circuit

Was gooing to be a rant but nice shop fixed it for me.

Bought a Trek 7.5FX a few weeks back.  Decided that I wanted bar ends as on previous Scott.  Bought ends, got them home and found that Trek has reinvented the handlebar for 2011.  TinyURL.com - shorten that long URL into a tiny URL
Must say the bars were very comfortable on local roads.

However, the bar has been "squashed" at both ends to allow the antivibe pad to be set in and the bar plug had a matching lump cut out.  Normal bar ends wouldn't fit - actually not enough bar end to clamp on to.

Shop contacted Trek who offered "just what the customer needs" - £64 carbon ends instead of the £10 alloy ends.  Shop did a deal and I was almost prepared to pay £30.

Took bike to shop and asked them to check the ends would be safe and fit for me.  Long to short - they clamped in just the same way and the mechanic wouldn't let me try them.

Choices was to not have ends OR replacement standard bars, replacement grips and alloy ends.  Left bike at shop for it to be sorted.

Collected bike this morning; new bars of same width and rise as before, new ergo grips of same shape as before, alloy bar ends fitted, barbag klickfix transferred across, all setup ready to ride.

COST?  £10 for the ends ONLY.

Big thanks to TriSports of Letchworth.  Friendly, helpfull, good range of stock, always ready to help out.

not cycling stuffs, but was bullied by the scary lady in the running shop into buying a pair of these Fivefinger Ksos | Barefoot Junkie to try and fix my dodgy shins and calves.  Tried em round the park before my 'proper' run this afternoon and loved them!

Bought a GoPro Wide camera and after a week of the usual hassle with inflexible couriers it has been collected.

Unfortunately they have sent me the HD version and invoiced me for the cheaper one!

I am awaiting instructions........
