That would have been the early 80's then.

A bit earlier, I left school at 16 in 1980.  I'd say 1977 (ish)

It also traveled through the Netherton Tunnel

Is that some kind of Black Country euphemism?

I've just made some more cake, and remembered I still have the Baton. If anyone's passing near Dundee give me a shout.

A couple of thoughts: LEJoG-JoGLE ??  Glasgow 28th July - 3rd August?? (Not that I'll be able to help with the second of those directly).

No-one said it has to go in the same direction (I'm pretty sure it's backtracked several times). Though recently it's been sitting on my desk.

Don't you have a free weekend?  400Km up, Photo, and 400km home. Done.

By my calculations, and ICBW, if we had used the shortest B-road route and attached the baton to a snail, forced said snail to move for 20 hrs per day up said route, assuming no speed loss from baton carrying, the baton would be in JoG now  :demon:

EDIT: garden snail, not snail otp.

Have you factored in that Snail has hurt her knee?

We are forming an attachment though. The sort where I am neglected and may be able to collect appropriate damages at some stage.

Time I was going SOMEWHERE.

I'm thinking that it would be wonderful if it managed to get aboard the Steve Abraham record attempt at some point, if only for a few miles.

There is a plan of a trip, involving Mrs. Miggins, Loadsabikes, myself and possibly others yet to express an interest, in which we cycle from Edinburgh to Orkney. No dates have yet been fixed, but the last exchange of PMs makes it likely that it will be July some time. LAB, I And possibly others will be discussing details this coming weekend.

Should this plan bear fruit, then I am certain that the Baton would be very welcome company.

Great minds and all that.
It does however mean that at least one of us will need to ride up to Edinburgh with said baton.
It would be good to actually get the bloody thing to JOG, only my third time of carrying it.
