Not saying I've got a lot of cycling stuff to rehome before I move home, but I seem to have initiated this...

Cycle Jumble Sale
Salt Ayre cycle track, Lancaster
Saturday 11th of June, 11:30am-1:30pm

A community cycle jumble sale hosted by Cog Set cycling club. Everyone welcome.

A great opportunity to pick up a bargain and/or give your currently under-used stuff a new lease of life!

clothes • books • components • maps • bags • accessories • tools • and more

There's no fee for entry or for selling, but you are encouraged to make a donation to support the work of the Papyrus Prevention of Young Suicide https://www.papyrus-uk.org

Sellers:
Email David Leslie at prof.david.leslie@gmail.com before 9th of June to reserve your space as a seller.  There are a limited number of tables available to borrow from Cog Set if you need them (these must be booked in advance when you reserve your space), otherwise bring your own table or rug to set up on.

You're responsible for setting up, running and packing down your stall, so make sure you bring everything you need. Please be on site ready to set up by 11am.

Buyers:
Bring some cash, have a mooch around, enjoy a bit of a chat with different types of cyclists and go home with a little treat to spice up your ride and/or something utterly practical to keep you rolling.

Access:
The jumble sale will be taking place outside, next to the cycle track, at location https://goo.gl/maps/tsm1YfRzK3EPGiA16. It is a step-free site. Basic toilet facilities are available at the track, with additional and accessible toilets available inside the leisure centre.

By cycle - The cycle track is just off the Greenway cycle path between Lancaster and Morecambe. Please be careful crossing the track because there will be a children’s coaching session taking place. There are lots of cycle racks nearby.

By bus - The number 6A bus from Lancaster and Morecambe stops at the ASDA supermarket; Salt Ayre is about an 8 minute walk from the bus stop. Alternatively, several bus services stop at the junction of the A589 Morecambe Road and Summersgill Road, which is also close by.

By car - Follow the signs to Salt Ayre Leisure Centre from the A683. No motor vehicles are permitted in the cycle track area, but free parking is available in the leisure centre car park. (The far end of the car park is closest - about 100m walk from the track.)

The shipping container with toilet symbols on the door was firmly locked (suspected rusted) when we were there the week before last.  It's a bit of a trek to the leisure centre (and you can forget about driving to the other end of the site if you have limited mobility and no blue badge - the car park near the building will be rammed  (DAHIKT)).

Say hi to the suicidal dog-walkers for me...

Heh! Were you timelording up here?!

The cycle jumble's being co-organised with the cycle club with the keys to the toilets. And yes: it's a big and busy site.

Yep.  I may also have done a bit of wheel-sucking racing.  It was all a bit hectic in an attempt to run to schedule and pack up before it chucked it down.

It's a good track, but the sightlines are poor and there are far too many opportunities for unsuspecting members of the public to fail to read the massive warning signs and ignore the marshals before wandering all over it with dogs, trolleys, scooters, etc.  Not sure if we'll be back there in a hurry.

Hope the jumble sale finds lots of new owners for old items, raises lots of money for good causes and is good fun. And it doesn't rain!
