My instinct is to file this with that Garmin radar thing and all the bicycle indicators, but it'll probably be useful to someone. It's basically a vibrating version of nikki's sonar goggles

I liked the point about helmets though.
[1] Which I once used to successfully not walk into a large laser printer.
