Greywell tunnel. Looks a bit like a bridge. There are metal grilles to prevent anyone going further than a few feet into the tunnel.

western end:

eastern end

There's a bit of canal on the Basingstoke side of the tunnel, but it isn't maintained like the rest. Overgrown, and not much water in it (that may not be the case after a lot of rain).

I suppose that when the château was originally built it would have been a drawbridge but this one is quite solidly anchored.
It is Bourg Archambaut in the Vienne département

Not a great defensive position, it's all flat round there, they probably needed the moat!

Cambus O' May footbridge, over the River Dee near Ballater.

This got pretty smashed up in The Great Floods a few years ago.
The water level was above the bridge deck, and very fast-flowing. Large bits of debris like whole trees and caravans (yes!) got strained through it, bending it all out of shape.
It has only just recently been repaired and re-opened.

Lots of people swimming in the Dee, the water level is very low.

The horble gits showed at least one previously unseen bridge on their highlights show last night, but it wasn’t a very good angle.

[several snaps of one of my 'locals']

I like this bridge. I remember going on a school trip there when it was very new, and I can still picture and hear in head my dad - also my teacher and my headteacher - being excited about the engineering of it. Funnily enough he spent the last few years of his life in a care home just over the south side (only place that would take him after the previous spot evicted him - it turned out to be a really excellent move because the home in Barton, while less middle-class and smart looking, was a million times better and had amazing staff) so I reckon my most recent trip over it will have been the day before he died.

This taking a picture of a bridge from a bridge is getting to be a habit.

Well, isn't that a corker! I do like a bridge with a view of a bridge.
