Good idea and shortly Ted should be able to join you on these jaunts to help spread the load a little

1850 is too tight for me as I won't be leaving Southend until at least 1800.

What time could you make it to Lidl by?

1915 if all goes well. 1930 comfortably.

So do we wait for ted, jibbers? Or leave hime to fend for himself?

I'm doubtful for tonight.  If I do make it, I'll be going it alone on my way to the Chequers.
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

We should - though we will be curtailing drinking time as its still just under a 2 hour ride :)
(which isn't a bad thing given I am in the Village of London the following day)

19:30 at the Lidl RBT (car park)

Or we could ride a one and a half hour route, or go quicker.

Or you could leave me to my fate and carry on.

19:30 suits me better anyway. I agree that we don't have to ride for 2 hours  :P

My OCD will not allow me to deviate from my route :) i.e. I'd like to get 25miles in before the boozer....

If I set off at 18:50 from home, I'll be in Blackmore for around 20:10

If you chaps set off from Chelmsford railway station/Dukes Street at 19:30, you'll be in Blackmore for around the same time. (8-9 miles, 13mph)
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12040436

If that works, could meet outside the pub in Blackmore (Leather Bottle) at 20:10ish +/- 5 mins  ??

Bobb, the first bit of Jiber's suggested route to Blackmore looks a bit like the sort of thing Genesis Croix de Fer riders use rather than gentlemen like ourselves.

Why don't I meet you outside the Black Bull as usual and then we can use a civilised route ?

How about in the entrance to Admirals Park opposite Park Ave, just before the Black Bull? Easier to pull in there...

19:30 ok?

Could be interesting for you tonight Bobb you're either going for high watts but a short distance or low watts and a longer distance depending upon how Graeme Froome decides he wants to play it!!

So shall I meet you in Blackmore or keep going though it?  ???

(Route out on the track was just a suggestion, its paved cycle path, probably less holes than you've encountered in the last week or so! :D )

I think Ted prefers somewhere that he might be able to take a dip, can you divert the route to incorporate any fords for him?

Just for Ted here is a proposed route for the Spa Rd peloton https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/11552069 it ends at Drakes Lane as I then took the same 'out' route back.
Is it just me or does this route deftly avoid The Chequers Inn at Roxwell?  Instead diverting across a field and heads back East again.

At last, someone sensible on this thread.

Yes, that sounds great. See you then.

Jiber, we will attempt to meet you in Blackmore as requested.  Bobb will want to "do one" as soon as he is finished vaping though.
