Whatever, I think in these Covid times, passengers should be masked for the whole journey.

GN: Just had first vaccination for that modern lurgy thing that's so popular atm.
BN: Pfizer; at my age AZ would have been better. Now hoping for mild but noticeable reaction to show that the protest against bodies is working.
Just to make sure that I got there I walked nearly 5 miles (if the bus doesn't turn up...), then walked another 2 miles to Waitrose to buy goodies. The (Muslim) bus driver didn't seem to be impressed by my happylunch of ham sandwiches and port.
Suspect your necessary unmasking to consume concerned him more than what you ingested.
As I simply told him (we know each other and chat a bit - used to be more a year ago) then had lunch at home, unmasking wasn't necessary.

Heard Bob Jackson went bust

Also heard that Woodrup are taking over the famous name (Bob Jackson died last century) but not the physical premises which were in sad need of investment.

Good to know it won't become just a decal on a BSO.

GN:  I should be getting a shiny new laptop next week,  16G of ram instead of 4G in the current piece of crap.  Maybe now Teams calls won't lock my machine up half the time.

BN: Windows 10.  Wassat then ?   Better or worse than 7?

^ This.

My XP-era Windows knowledge is stretched to breaking point by where it's hidden things inna "O hai, I iz tablet nao" stylee.  But it performs surprisingly well and seems less Crashy McCrashface than 8 or The Versions That Shall Not Be Named.

Classic Shell is ur frend, assuming the Thought Police will let you install Stuffs.  Can't recall mine doing a proper crash at least since I replaced the moving picture card with one that actually fitted in the available space.

Updates still suck like a twin-turbocharged Henry though.

Does that give windows a proper edging? Cos if so. I'm tempted to put in a helldesk request for installation privs cos the lack of window edges does my vision in.

Probably worth a suck-it-and-see on your personal Windows box, at least?

BN: The video output is this new fangled HDMI & they didn't include a cable.  I think there was one included with my monitor,  but I've not a clue where it is.  Rummaging or shopping ?

GN: I’ve bought at ‘95 Kona cinder cone.  8)

BN: A shoulder injury is keeping me from being able to actually ride it, or any other of my bikes.
Don't ask.

Confused me there Luke. Where I come from (the geological world) cinder cones are piles of once-very hot rocks that sit on the sides of volcanoes.  Why would you want to ride it?  I am not understanding..........

Kona have had a thing for naming some of their bikes on a volcanic theme - Cinder Cone, Lava Dome, Fire Mountain, Kilauea...

When I bought my Marin Muirwoods in 1998 I really wished that I could have got a Konami at the time but I simply couldn't get my hands on one.

Beautiful bikes.  Never owned one but really wanted one.

GN: the magnum of Puy de Lignac 2004 is still just about drinkable.
BN: there are only 2 of us to drink it.
GN: it makes superb gravy to go with the steak.
GN: every sip of it reminds me of drinking cheap rough red wine in a small restaurant serving only duck on warm sunny evenings with my father in the Medoc. Wandering home down the road I. The dark with my wife and two sons feeling very merry.
BN: the restaurant is now closed and a ruin, my father is 10 years dead but the memories remain.
