oooh yes - I seem to be hyper as well. I did my 6th 600+ of the season last weekend and that's definitely the last. Probably.

Ahem, Marcus - you just couldn't resist the challenge could you  ;D

Y L G, that is indeed A Great Achievement. Must be worthy of a badge to sew on your Carradice.  :)
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

I see surfing the AUK results that Matt T and Ben T are both listed, first ones this year. Congratulations to you both.

I'm vaguely jealous and think I might like to add my name to the list. 2 600s so far. Does the French 1200 count? The YACF 600 may be required.

The French ride would count, I'd have thought. But only once!

You'd be welcome on the September 600.

You'll have to ride 600k in the upcoming 24.  Now there's a challenge for you!

thanks 8)

i was going to go for the HAAAR, but chickened out of offas dyke. I decided that KSW, OD, Seething then 3coasts on consecutive weekends was a bit much.

I am on track however for my goal of an all-england AAA-SR.   (the 200 for it isn't BRM but since it's an award purely of my own invention it doesn't matter ;) ). Probably pretty rare.

Don't think I'll quite manage that Mr B, but just for you I'll give it my best shot ;). Anyway, the YACF 600 was very enjoyable last year, particularly the pub meal near Howden.

The Wessex SR, which requires 2 perms (Hardboiled & Porkers), is an AAA SR series, that's my challenge for next year. Hopefully not alone  :)

Of course you can. Even an old fart like me can do that. 400 miles is the first serious marker.

I was told that a respectable distance for a bloke was 350 miles. I had good weather (and too much time off the bike) and cracked 600 km unsupported. No harm in having a safe target and a stretch target.

It's surprising how far you can go in a 24 hour TT compared to an Audax.
However, I think that only the Mersey 24, not the East Sussex 24, will count for AUK. Or am I wrong?

::-) 500K is my stated aim & I'm not going public on anything further than that. 350 miles is not 600k LWaB. So even if I achieve respectability it wouldn't help the hyper.

Don't both the 24's count for AUK? Besides which it's the Mersey I've entered, on the basis that the timing is good for PBP.

Both 24s count for AUK points. I rode aiming for a respectable lady's distance (300 miles) and found I was rolling much better than I ever expected. Don't hold yourself back too much if it happens to you. A race encourages a better performance from me than an Audax does.

Even the big boys rarely get under 24 hours on a 600k Audax. I mean the likes of Gethin Butler and John Warnock, no less!
I've never been faster than 25 hours for a 600, even when I've tried to get round one quick, so I could ride a 200 on the Sunday. But I'm confident that I will break 600k in a 24 hour, but have fallen short a few times because of pre ride knackerdness.

I entered my first hill climb competition with the local club yesterday - I think completing the HR may have been easier

Yes, well done Matt-T.  (I was assuming MattT until your reply).  A pleasure to have ridden with you on BCM, and stamped your card on Teifi Traveller.  That was  you, wasn't it?

Yup, guilty as charged on the first count - thanks for seeing me through what was a particularly low patch on the BCM !
I think the card stamp was for the Marches & Mersey Roads, after a full day of finest Welsh weather !

Oh yes.  Different event, same finishing spot as the M&MR, half the distance, same weather.

Is "hyper" 4 600s in an AUK year, or is it the most recent SR of the current AUK season
consisting of 4 600s? I.e. do one need to do four straight 600 km BR's with no other BRs
in between any of the 600's to be hyper?

E.g. if I do a 600 in Nov, a 200 in Dec, a 600 in Jan, a 600 in Feb and a 600 in Mar, is that
a hyper, or does the 200 in Dec ruin the hyper-ness?
