Hopefully I’ll move into the Probable classification soon.

Actually I was up that way with my wife for a long weekend, and we popped to Tan Hill on the way home last Monday, there is still snow up there, camping area had a covering.

I'll make a final decision nearer the time, but I'm increasingly concerned by the spread of Covid-19. It's sort of connected to my job and I don't like the look of the numbers tbh.

There’s a possibility, just need the door of opportunity to open a little wider.

I'm out, I'm afraid.  It's a bit close to my university hand-in date and I'm full of terror in case I don't pass this module.

Floor space still available.
Milk please, no sugar.

Still a possible; unless CV19 factors mean I won't travel up from Oxon to visit Scarbs/Hgt...

I was about to book trains and things a couple of weeks ago when I b0rked my knee, so decided to wait and see...

I managed a hilly 100 at the weekend without too much knee drama, so that's a bit more promising.  I'll have a proper look at logistics tonight.

Does anybody have an opinion / experience of

a) Wensleydale railway with a bike?

Too late to be of use, but yes - the EldestCub and I used it to get from Bedale to Redmire on our Awfully Big Adventure about 9 years ago :)

The problem with the Tan Hill is that it is so blinking hard to get to without a bike or a car!

Okay, I'm in.  Going to approach from Oxenholme this time.  A split ticket extravaganza back from Darlington.

ETA:  Bollocks, just realised I've booked the bunk room for the night of the 22nd, because trains had broken my brain.  Have emailed them to see if they'll change it.

I'm still in but having some worries about the whole Covid-19 situation acting as a wrecking ball against all my plans for the coming months.

Anyway, my current plan is to have a couple of nights out camping, perhaps riding Newcastle-Haltwistle-Alston on Friday and then onto Tan Hill by way of Kirby Stephen. On Sunday I've got two choices; ride home to Newcastle or over to Yarm where Mrs B and the kids will be visiting family.

You're not alone on that one. I'm technically a high risk person (lungs), so I'm giving serious consideration to hermitism for six months.

Goes without saying, but I’m out.

Hopefully we can rearrange later when everything settles down.

All the best everybody

Yes, I was looking forward to this.

Be good to reconvene when we're on the other side, whenever that might be.

Agreed,

Maybe we could have a post plague Tan Hill night once normal service resumes.

Yeah, a trip up once all this has blown over would be cool.
