The best mass produced hummus I have had in ages is Mr Dips.
Making my own hummus I just drain a tin on chickpeas, give them a rinse in the tin, stick it in to the food processor then add a couple of table spoons of tahini and then anything from pitted olives or sun dried tomatoes or just overripe tomatoes. Then maybe smoked paprika or chilli powder or chilli flakes. Usually a shot of olive oil, last one I added a shot of pomegranite molasses and it was lovely.
