I'll scoop you up as I wheeze past the fire station and we'll grab Oaky by the Jack & Jenny then off up North Hill.  Is that OK?

Shame its not the Jack and Danny.

I'll decide tomorrow when I've seen how the land lies. What time sitting down?

Chaps, I'm hoping to make it tomorrow night but I am due to be out for worky drinkies and not sure what time that will finish.  Will keep folks posted via small message service  :thumbsup:

I'm suprised nobody wants to gatecrash Tomsk's book club to see what really goes on  :o

Cos I like doing these things I have fettled a proposed route from Witham.  The sharp eyed will note it passes dangerously close to both bloomer's and chief's homes.

By the way I have heard from Tomsk who plans to pop in for a drink after "book club".  I know Huggy has been a bit poorly so I have enquired after his well being.

Route looks good ... are you planning to ride through the ford on Hurrell's lane then?
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

No.  Although I'm happy to take photos, video even, of your attempt.  Or perhaps we could persuade slippy it's only a few inches deep - he'd be fine, soot bikes don't rust.

* Oaky doesn't do fords!

@Slippy:  It's only a couple of inches deep - you should be fine.

I am indeed still coughing my guts up with or without mild exercise although riding the 1.5 miles home from the office does induce a fit of comedy coughing.  So, I will unfortunately not be out to play this evening - TMNH might just be the end of me right now  :sick:

I hope to get some miles in next week to gauge fitness before the G&YF next Friday.  However, my taxi driving duties will preclude me form Wednesday evening, Tuesday any good for anyone?!?

Careful, planning a MEMWNS outing when we still have to complete this week's adventure might raise the odd eyebrow in some quarters.  Nonetheless Tuesday next week might work better for me as I have an early start on Thursday.

Dunno, me and fords haven't got on too well recently, something to do with that Newton chap I think.

It's especially more worrying when I was told of a story when some chap near Boxford crashed during a race (actually about 12 of the riders out of 80odd fell), broke his pelvis and had to wait 40 minutes for the ambulance, with water gushing all around him as they couldn't move him.

The mid-Essex crew have a long association with fords - there have been triumphs and disasters.  Personally, I quite like them.  Sed quid temptare nocebit?

Looks better than what i got last night. Me and Mrs C. had a date night last night and went for Thai in Maldon. They've reecently changed chef's and it showed. Took 45 mins for our starters to appear and we were there for over 2 hours. The waiting staff spent most of the time in the kitchen helping out. Food was pretty substandard as well. Apparently potatoes in veg curry is a no no according to Mrs.C. Shame as it used to be really good. :-\
