It varies from day to day!

Advanced planning alert would The Chequers - Roxwell be an okay destination for Wednesday?
Never been in so not sure what it's like but it's on the Chelmsford CAMRA website and I think I have a route the Witham peloton could use!

Suits me. I will be going from Chelmsford, possibly on a Bobb route but I won't be leaving until 7.30.

Of course you're probably going for a swim first before you jump on the bike to come and meet us!

That's fine by me. I may not stay until last orders as I've a busy day on Thursday so don't want to be late home as its a reasonable return ride.

The 23.19 from Chelmsford will get you in at 23.29.  It's less than 5 miles from the Chequers to the Station.

You witnessed Lance Armstrong OD's cadence on Saturday morning now he's spinning Ted I'm sure a surge on the front of the peloton on the way home will see us in the outside lane of the A12 and home to Witham in no time  ;)

Just for Ted here is a proposed route for the Spa Rd peloton https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/11552069 it ends at Drakes Lane as I then took the same 'out' route back.

If we want to avoid that long on the A1060 on the return we can swing round Cow Watering Lane which adds about a mile?

Bobb might be able to suggest a few lanes around Roxwell that would avoid Melbourne etc

I might try to intersect with the peloton by riding towards you.  If the Hustler is out I shall be paying particular attention so that he doesn't put the toe down while I am turning round  >:(

In other news, I appear to have killed my 'phone during Saturday's duathlon  :-[

A wise move keeping the eye on The Hustler as I mentioned to you on last Wednesday nights return he openly told me to 'give it beans' if I wished as we turned to go down Blue Mills Hill which I politely declined in order to ride with him only to see him put the hammer down moments later as he hunted down SSN aka Gavin real name Giles and the BFC........

A good point for you to intercept would probably be in Terling as we are due to go over the ford and that of course presents you with your swimming opportunity  ;D

There is some COR pretty much directly opposite Roxwell when you cross the A1060 that takes you to Chignal St. James. I think we did it on the Rubbish Roads ride a couple of years or so ago. Not sure I'd fancy it at this time of year though!  :P

Looks good, I have converted it into a gpx so I'm good to go - thanking you  :-*

Don't worry it was a rubbish phone and long overdue for replacing.  What use is a phone that doesn't take decent photos of your daft cycling mates in pubs???

Yes, it's important to change your 'phone at least every 3 months.  Oh, hang on, I don't work for a telecoms company.

The man at the 'phone stall in the shopping centre thinks his mate can fix it.  Worth a gamble

No, some magic beans

Phone has been in dry rice with cover off and battery out since Saturday afternoon.

I think it was semi-nackered before with condensation from cheap cover hence the screen camera blurring.  Deciding whether to get new one or try for a repair.

For those of you that might be worrying rest assured I have it on good authority from Ted that the Office Manager responsible for the purchase of said phone cover will at the very least be on a final written warning possibly worse....  :o

I have done The Chequers - Roxwell last year on a beer trip from Ingatestone to 3 Elms via Viper - was a quiet pub with real ale on a couple of tape though I cant remember what I had now.  I think I might swing out below Chelmo and round via Blackmoor to make a ride of it, will ponder a route later...

I'll probably re-ride this but without the COR near home and involving Roxwell rather than Writtle.... :)
