It appears that all three routes north of home towards Great Waltham are flooded  :o

Looks like I'm going to be a no-show...

Only flood free route I could think would be Woodhill Road and then across Chelmsford (through Baddow & Moulsham)
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45156119

The rivers were very high when I walked to the pub on Sunday night and there is a flood warning for Can and Wid. https://riverlevels.uk/flood-warning-river-can-and-chelmer-through-chelmsford

No mention of Hammonds area though but I expect thats just as bad.

So, next Wednesday evening, shall we have a festive curry or some such?

 It's going to be somewhere near Witham isn't it ? (So not the Jalsa Ghar in Dunmow or Ruby's at Tolly D'Arcy.) Coggeshall Spice; Omar's, H. Peverel?

I’m going to struggle to get in there before next Wednesday, shame they aren’t open for lunch, but Google reviews are good.

I think we could be a table of 10 to 15 as I have been messaging a few people.  I will attempt to book a table this evening, Omar's aren't picking up at the moment.  I'll go for 8pm and explain some folks might drift in a bit later.

Doesn't look like it - there'll be a big stack of bikes out the front I think ...

There's a zebra crossing out front, I did wonder if we could get away with using the poles for the bikes lol...  Google satellite view looks like rear parking.

I would think parking bikes at the front of Omars would be safer, attached to each other.

I was just checking their website. They do supply alcohol don't they, or is a BYOB arrangement?

Also closing time is shown as 10pm. That's good for me as I have a long trek home, but thought I'd flag it ... not that it's far to the nearest pub!

No idea about the booze situation.  There is a Co-op nearby.

Last time we were there, many years ago, they did not have an alcohol licence, but the family also owned the off-licence next door so you went there to buy your bottles which they would provide glasses for at the table.

Morning.

I'm going to have to bail on tonight I have come down with a stinking cold and while it is the season of sharing I don't feel inclined to make you all ill.

I have £11.20 from last weeks whip. Should I hang on to it for next week for The Compasses or does some one want me to do a transfer it to them so you have it for tonight.
