I've always felt this way about Critical Mass, too. TBH, it makes me a bit embarrassed to be a cyclist  .

Me too - If I was actively trying to discourage some activity I would organise publicity to associate it with death - like the health warnings on fag packets. Remember a couple of years ago when we all took issue with the DfT for their h****t promotion material featuring skulls.
