Looks like stupidity in the extreme, if you ask me.  Quite apart from the risk to himself, he might have knocked another passenger onto the rails.

I couldn't be bothered to trawl through eleven pages, but I only saw one comment saying bikes should be banned.  Some people will take any opportunity to get on their high horse ::-)
