Got a Bike Bag I can Borrow?
« on: 26 June, 2008, 03:40:58 pm »
Only really possible if you're around the Edinburgh area I guess. Just looking for a basic bike bag into which I can hide the bike I'm taking down to London so I can keep it in the room (and probably sneak it onto the train as well).

I've got one in London - but that doesn't really help you does it?

Actually, had one offer from London already, which could work if I can get the bike booked onto the train as normal then bung it in a bag when I arrive. Annoyingly the guy who sorted the train tickets did it online, where you can't book a bike space, and despite me mentioning a number of times that I needed such a space didn't let me know that 'there didn't seem to be anywhere on the site to book one.'  ::-)

We've got one, probably still too far away though.....although I am supposed to be going to Ikea on Saturday....
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

I've got one you can borrow if Bo'ness isn't too far away for you. Having said that, it's not really much smaller than taking a complete bike on the train, so I don't know if it'd be any easier or not. Re hotel rooms, I normally just walk through reception pushing my bike like it's completely normal. Nobody has stopped me yet.

PM me if you want to borrow it.

Tell you what, I could ride to the NECML with my bag and hold it out as your train passes, you could lean out and grab it as you go past. Would that work ?

That sounds the most fun suggestion, just ahead of the Snow Roads....  ;)

Mrs P, I wouldn't want to put you out, or force you to have to go to IKEA! If my brother had been coming down for a visit next week as planned that would have worked.

Valkyrie and Mrs P you will very shortly have PMs.... (note the SMALL 's').

Thanks all!

I have a very nice Carradice bike bag that I got as a bargain at York.  However, I shall be in Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaafaaaaaaaaaaaallllllkkkkkk this weekend, otherwise you'd be welcome to borrow it.
