Just about to head off to Newmarket Racecourse to see Tom Jones* at Newmarket Nights.  I'm in a kilt, much to Mr R's distress - but to the delight of the ladies accompanying us.

On a TPE train home, after another splendid pubbe runne. Tiermat had reinforcements in the shape of Deano tonight, so instead of being outnumbered 4 to 1 by the wimmin it was 4 to 2. And then crusty joined us at the pub as well. Good chips, good beer, good company, grand night out :)

Having visited it at lunchtime, I am now aware of a pubbe that rivals The New Inn in the chip stakes.

Next ride from here might just involve visiting it, the trouble is that visiting it means heading skywards at one point.....

Well, tomorrow is a forum ride. And it is nearly midnight. So, naturally, I'm about to bake a cake!

Hoping that the 'hotel' I've got booked in Embra for the big gay wedding of the year this Saturday will a) let us in early enough to get changed before the wedding and b) isn't quite as shit as all the reviews I've just read would suggest. :(

Feeding the cat and disposing of the subsequent toxic waste.

Interestingly she's produced some of the most benign (and in tiny quantities) cast waste I've ever had to deal with.  Even in non-clumping litter, it's very dry, and almost odourless.

I can hear her thudding about next door, I don't know what she's doing, but she's clearly having fun doing it!  I'll go a deal with Kai first, since (i) I need to go to the loo, and that involves the bathroom, so I can't avoid waking him up & (ii) I won't disturb her, and stop her doing whatever she's doing to the Shoelaces of Doom/Squeaky Mouse/Random rolling toy.
Actually, it is rocket science.

Just got back from Lacock, where I took a photo of Mr Fox Talbot's oriel window.  Embarrassingly, they have cameras older than mine in the museum (which isn't actually very good).  There's also an exhibition on George Bernard Shaw's photography, including a large photo of him apparently taking a snap with a Leica.  He has a finger over the lens

It was absolutely fine. Pretty friendly. Room in the annexe was compact & bijou  but clean, and the walls didn't keep any sound out but that didn't seem to stop me sleeping as soon as my head hit the pillow at 0230 this morning. Can't say anything about the breakfast though.  :-[ I really ought to add something to Tripadvisor to balance out all the crap ones.
And the wedding was great. (photo by anth)
