August dates are good for me. How do I get the trike to Birmingham though? Train companies are a pain :(

You can do it without starting a new thread.

Bottom left of any page of the thread.

You'll see two links: "Remove Topic" and "Link to Calendar"

(Note that everyone can see the "Link to Calendar" option, but only the originator of the thread can use it.

Well, it will be at a gentle pace and much regrouping at the top of the hills (if one can call them that), if that's any help.

That's some help. More helpful still would be someone to peel me off the machine at any stops. Or a large car park, so I can just keep going during breaks as it seems to hurt most when I stop.

Or maybe some sort of wedge that I could just ride into?

Actually, it's not that bad. I've found that it seems to be worse the day after any cycling, but I am slowly on the mend (and I'm reminded that I had better be fit for DPR anyway).

I have the perfect remedy.

Don't stop. Just keep going. I'll tag along with you. I promise. I don't ride that fast on a Dahon.

Now that I have diary next to computer, I'm up for this.  Brum, you say?  I haven't anything funnier than the 'bent that I did FNRttC on, but it's strange enough compared to the usual BSOs.

I've never had any problems getting it onto trains between Derby and Birmingham; the guards are usually laughing at it too much to refuse.

I was thinking of meeting from 10am for a 10:30 start.  Getting back is a little difficult to judge- mid afternoon probably but the eatery is only around 11miles from the start so you can nip back early if you need to.

Is there anyone else eying this ride up, who doesn't own a funny bike? I'd hate to be the only one if I came along.

Put a big red nose on the front of your bike.   ;D

As it's only 2 and a bit weeks away and I may be away for much of the time from next Monday until the Thursday before, could I ask if people can give some notiication of whether or not they are still planning on coming, so as I can let the feeding hole know the numbers in plenty of time, etc?

And remember, although the theme is a funny bike ride we won't turn away anyone on a 'standard' bike who'd like to come (fancy dress is optional)

cheers

I'm not going to be able to make it, since I'd have to leave at something like 5am, change trains at least 4 times, and it would cost me over £60. :-\
Actually, it is rocket science.
