Go on, you know you want to. Can I find out what it is? No.

Very nice violin piece.

First one to 'get it', gets a big smacky kiss from me.

I should add, it's the Radio programme being serialised on BBC7 written by whassername Holtby

It's not often I can answer one of m'own questions but, dear friends, you're in luck.

This is from Radio 7 and they got back pretty promptly:

The theme music for South Riding is Irish Rhapsody No.6 For Violin And Orchestra, composed by Charles Villiers Stanford and performed by the Ulster Orchestra. It appears on the album Stanford: Irish Rhapsodies on the Chandos label.

That was good of them.  I've often wondered about music used on the radio, but never thought to ask them.
