I came across a nice-sounding recipe for toffee, but one of the ingredients is 'corn syrup'. Can I substitute Golden Syrup for this?

Probably but you will need to experiment as Golden Syrup is more viscous than corn syrup and behaves differently when heated. I have seen recipes for pecan pie that say to use Golden Syrup as a substitute.
