Can anyone explain the Code ACP column of the results table on the BoB website?  Mine is "UK" rather than a number

I assume that's what was filled in (or not filled in) on the entry form. I understand that the ACP code for Audax UK is 16000, and that certainly seems to be the case for the other AUK members.

I did fill in 160000 as the ACP code but for me it also lists "UK" on the results sheet. There are a few people with "Audax UK" and "16000", but <shrug/> all I care about on that sheet is the ACP homologation number ;-)

What an awesome adventure that was. ....

Assuming I was last again I plodded on , once at the 710k control I saw a handful of riders set off, but two stayed until i’d eaten.  We tried to form a group, I managed to be a similar pace as Dave_C and we stayed together until the end.

Not long after and the hills were done, We were still 3 hours over time, so pushed on using the tri bars to make up good speed.  Dave is faster than me but company helps, we rode next to each other along the canals etc clawing back the time.  Stopping for a picnic felt surreal and normal - thanks for the food Dave!

It was really good to hook up with you for the last 300km. I really enjoyed your company and our nocturnal chats. Those canal sections are great for munching up the miles, (but next time I'll head through Maastricht. I've visited it before on the train and would like to see some more.) I enjoyed our chat at the impromptu picnic also, these little things are what make Audax memories. I would have shared what I had to eat regardless of how much or little I had, Sharing is caring right?

Thanks also for the tip about the café at the Triborder. I had forgotten about the control at that point and if I was on my own would have ridden straight past without controlling.

The Recorder is a busy volunteer especially at this time of year, currently has a full time job, and likes to get out on his bike occasionally.  Please don't expect an instant reaction to emails.   See also   http://forum.audax.uk/index.php?topic=1587.new#new

The Club code (ACP Code in the results table) is not of concern.  What matters is the Homologation number - the first column.

so true!  Where else would you stop on a picnic table in the middle of the night to eat fruit and chocolate whilst chatting random stuff with someone you’ve only just met!

I see some people have picked up AAA points for this ride, can anyone fill me in on the process for claiming?

This is what I did:

• send an email to Peter, the AUK recorder, he will add the ride you your results page and assign an AUK reference number
• upload your ride to ridewithgps.com
• the brevet in its totality does not meet the AAA requirements, so find a segment that does*
• email Oliver, the AAA Man at aaa [at] audax.uk with your AUK member number, the reference number assigned to your ride, URL(s) to your upload to ridewithgps.com (make sure the ride is publicly viewable) and a description/calculation of the segment to use; for convenience I did add screenshots of the elevation profiles with the relevant section selected
  

* in my case, the 451km between Dour (actually, a little before, where the route crosses the N51) and Slenaken (a little after, crossing N598) yields 5727 metres of elevation which is just above the 5600m required for 450km

Just curious, how/where can you see how many AAA points others have picked up on a foreign ride? It's not on the 1000km results page (interestingly 15 out of 16 rides on that page are BoB)

I went to the overseas 1000 results then clicked the links to a few random people who have completed. The name hyperlink takes you to a certificate, but the membership number link takes you to that person's full results.

Have you ever heard the expression, "no means no"?
It's incredibly infuriating and patronising to be stuck with someone when you have requested to be left because they are 'a gentleman'. She's slower than you climbing, so couldn't ride away, and when she tried to be dropped you wouldn't leave her. You wouldn't have acted this way if she were a man.

While I agree in general, having felt like that on occassion, I think he did the right thing. You see, I stood right next to Elisabeth when she explicitly thanked Dave for staying with her. She thought she might not have made it to Champlon if he hadn't.
I argued with some guys a couple of years ago because they thought they could not let me ride through the night alone.
But, you see, I didn't tell them I was too slow and they should ride on, which is like: "I don't want to be a bother, but...", I told them I prefered riding at my own pace and could deal with whatever happened, too, so off with you. They get it if you tell them straight.

I (female) once stayed with a protesting wheel mate (male) because he was so exhausted with sleep deprivation he wasn't thinking clearly. I would have worried. Maybe it was patronizing, but I couldn't just ride off and let him be.

My personal thanks to Dave for installing a spork in my ride.

Didn't ride BoB, but I'm also waiting on my Brevet card for another Belgian ride i did in 2018. Not sure when they will be sent out.

Usually they are distributed at the annual randonneur party. Sometimes a randonneur takes a whole stack with them. QG, you may check with Leo as he brought my Belgian cards with him.

The brevet cards are not in the hands of the organisers; Randonneurs.be has all the cards.
As a rule they don't send the brevet cards.
I did get some mails about the brevet cards. I send the mails to Randonneurs.be so they could send the cards.
I contacted them again yesterday and asked if they could return the cards to all the finishers of the BOB.
They agreed so you should get your cards in the next couple of weeks.

First things first. That means trying to get ready for PBP.
We'll see in september what we'll do in 2020. We'll let you know in october/november.
