Where to start here?

Sorry, I know there's a 'rusty chain and cassette thread' somewhere, but it beats me finding it.

Just saw this in our building car park and I'm just delighted at the whole thing

That is nothing, I maintain a friend cycle that lives outside on the street 1/4 mile from the sea Se front in Brighton.

When gave it the once over for the first time the chain was not worn but i threw it away because i trouble removing from the bike because of the corrosion.

Each year when i maintain it i automatically replace the chain and cables due to corrosion even though it they are not worn.

It is not possible to take it in doors

Have a gander at the Gallery for 'The Dead BSO Thread'.
VELOMANCER

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

It wasn't really the fact that it has a rusty chain, per se, for me.  It was the loving care with which they'd made sure their new shiny wheels wouldn't be nicked - combined with the utter disregard for their forks or drive chain.

That is what amused me about it :)

That's why my town bike has belt drive.  So people can't take pictures of the rusty chain. And I have now replaced the broken rear mudguard that was held together by gaffer tape for a year or so.
