Title: ACME Awards Evening 9th November 2019
Post by: Tomsk on 22 September, 2019, 08:21:36 pm
Saturday 9th November, at the Compasses, Littley Green. In the Green Room [thanks Josser] from 7pm. Aiming to start formal proceedings from 8pm, until late/after-party/camping/B&B and so on.

If you think you qualify for an Essex SR medal/year bar, please let me know ASAP!!! If you have a trophy from last year, please bring it along or arrange for it to get back to me somehow ... Fixed points, total points, AAA claims etc etc ...

Organisers: any nominations for Helper of the Year?

Definitely 9th (not 2nd after the 3R’s). I can claim an Essex SR with the ECE’s.

 Maybe 9th will be too far from 5th for fireworks and bonfires this time?

Keeping focus for the 'do' after the 3Rs + ECE last year was hard, not exactly helped by beer ...

I'll be there but no Essex SR this year, breaking a good run  ::-) I think I know who gets the overall points trophy but curious on the fixed prize...

Happy to say I will be there this year and planning a DIY 200 ending at the Compasses. I did think about staying over but was too late, already fully booked that night.

I will bring the fixed wheel trophy with me - I think a certain ACME hard nut completing PBP fixed wheel might swing it in their favour.

There is potential for camping, not discussed with Jos yet but Ted and myself are perhaps up for it... not sure if there will be an after party though I expect it will be milder than Epiphany (famous last words!)

Still trawling the results - all ACME members have been checked for eligibility for awards.

Any non-members who haven't let me know their Essex SR details already, please do so asap! If you can't make the awards I will post to you.

To re-iterate: I'll be at the Compasses from about 18:00, I expect most will arrive from 19:00, then all being well we'll kick off at 20:00.

Quick question.  How are they with kids (actually he’ll be a teenager on Thursday...) at the Compasses.

Seems to have become a family weekend but they don’t have to join me Saturday night.

I’d have loved to have done a diy to the compasses, but have family visiting all weekend. Hope it’s a good evening.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening and good to catch up with lots of old friends.

We did knock off a little early as Rob Junior was already out late.

Anybody missing a red Altura waterproof jacket, size 'M' - left in the corner of the Green Room yesterday? They may have taken my similar looking Endura! Thankfully the rain had eased a bit by 11:30pm so the gaps around the edges of your slightly too small jacket wasn't a problem!

Sorry I couldn’t make it! Real life getting in the way of Audax at the moment but hopefully everything will be sorted by December  :).

+1 from me, really enjoyable evening catching up with all and sundry - thanks to Tomsk, Ted, Josser and everyone else that helped organise. Amazingly the weather even managed to rustle up a tailwind and much reduced rain for the ride home (both I suspect due to the fact that I was heading in the opposite direction to Grey Sheep  ;D )
