Just on the of chance that not everyone on here has a Brompton
I want to swap my Birdy (old style non-mono frame) stem from the comfort stem to the non-adjustable 'sports'* stem.
I want to do it by taking the hinge apart ('cos there is some slack in there that needs sorting anyway), retaining the lower half with the ahead set on it, and just bolting the new stem onto the top. I have the new circlips (thanks Andy), and it looks like it's just a question of knocking off the old circlips, taking the pin out, swapping stems and then reassembling with the new 'sports' stem and new circlips.
Does this sound reasonable or am I going to encounter hidden snags?
*Yes, yes, I know that 'Birdy' and 'sports' should not appear in the same sentence.
