I can't make it out this Wednesday but if there is Interest I could pop up to the Live and Let Live and see what the set up is if that helps

Exactly, I expect tippers will insist on sampling all their Ales and Ciders to ensure they're good enough for us.

Any Colchester boozer works for me, I like Colchester.  I might even contemplate getting the train home

I shall report back later tonight. It will depend on how many times I have to sample the products on offer!

I'd be keener on a more westerly venue than Colchester. Any others from this side out on Wednesday?

The Cock at Hatfield Broad Oak might be possible, seem to recall it having outdoor seating etc?

No covered area, yet. It is being built but is about 3 weeks away. They do have tables out side but obviously not ideal if the weather is rubbish.
Beer, cider and merlot all seemed in order.

They did offer seating inside, 1 person per table and you cant turn the chairs around to face each other based on the rules. Could make a fun game

I have a working bike, and that would suit me. We might need to book a table ... they are serving food until 8pm. Pie night.

Pie night is good, I've had a few romantic dinners in there as MEMWNS warm-ups

I'm not out this week, busy being instructed on how to be an instructor...

I'll give them a ring and book an outside table if necessary. Wednesday's forecast: 9-10 degrees, cloudy with a 10% chance of rain. Any more Westerners out? Almost a local venue for Nick compared to the 'way beyond Chelmo' treks of late ...?

I haven't managed to speak to everyone yet but the Swan at Totham looks favourite for tomorrow - they have a heated marquee that is within the Tier 2 rules.

Also so far:

Chequers, Goldhanger - benches under gazebos, no heating

Cross Keys, Hatfield Peverel, marquee heated (?)

Bell, Totham - 2 tables undercover with heating

Donkey & Buskins - umbrellas only

Alma - undercover and heated

Unless someone has a better idea fairly quickly, I will book the Swan.

Steady Mr F, that's over 10 miles riding.

Perhaps you could do it in stages.

Am I right in thinking the most efficient route from Witham to Little Totham incorporates TMNH?
