Ahem, indeed I'm in, though entering and paying proved a challenge, mainly because I'd booked a Travelodge the night of the 6th, for the next day's "Poor Student".

I took my iPad, and I took my laptop, and practiced logging into my bank on both devices, so I knew the passwords etc, but when I came to actually pay, I found I needed another little card reader, which I didn't have...

Much teeth gnashing ensued, but eventually I worked out that there was no rush whatsoever, but I still didn't really sleep, so apologies on the yawning to my fellow broke study folks!

I paid when I got home, and the email that followed was very clear, so I know where I am now !

Last LEL was brilliant and the roads often excellent, and personally I thought them better than PBP, but I like variety, and I'm completely mad....

In the summer of 2013, @trickedem's Facebook updates from LEL finally sucked me into long distance cycling. I also blame @Exit Stage Left and his videos, which are a dangerous gateway drug.

A few of months later, I joined AUK

and was on the start line of the Venetian Nights

, where I packed at the half way stop, and was put off Audaxing for almost a year, but had a second bite at the cherry starting 2014.

In early August, I may write some gruelling Facebook updates myself.

A friend told me... "LEL, it's a week on planet audax. What's not to like?" This is going to be a hoot, I'm really looking forward to being on the road with so many others from yacf, and meeting many more at controls. I wonder if there will be another "yacf number plate" thread.

We had planned for 400 riders from the AUK and guaranteed entry lists.

We're now at 470 riders with 11 days to go.

i always pencilled in 500 + the 400 in 1st deposit lot .. leaving 600 for 20th Jan .. 600 is looking tight now.

I'm currently down as a volunteer for st Ives for the first weekend and feeling guilty about considering entering instead... still would need to get it past my other half who is not impressed with the idea of me riding #3...
