The sports reporter on Radio 4 and other stations.

I just can't take to his statement style, multiple sentence questions that could often be answered with yes or no.  I honestly wonder how he got his job, let alone keeps it.

Today a couple of gaffs in the 6:30 news slot on the Today programme.

Any fans out there?

Monstrously irritating.

Definite a punch in the face radio style.
It is simpler than it looks.

A perfect storm of irritation: R4 Today presented by John Humphrys with sport by "Garry" and Thought for the Day with Anne Atkins.

I'm glad that it is not just me.

I guess there are no takers for his dreadful slot on Sunday mornings on 5live.  Truly awful journalism.

He did do a surprisingly funny teatime R4 programme (Look Away Now), but otherwise he is a real life excruciating Alan Partridge, for whom I believe he was the model.

Radio goes off for a few minutes when he comes on. I hate the way he asks stupid questions that are clearly not going to elicit an answer unless the interviewee has been force fed several tabs of acid an hour or so before the programme. And then keeps asking them even when the interviewee has refused to answer.  He's up there with Jonathan Ross, in my view, as someone who has been lucky not to have been told by a subject to FO at some point (maybe Ross has. I hope so).

ISTR Richardson has had interviews abruptly terminated in the past.

I'm feeling much more assured now.

I think he got in a spot of bother at Wimbledon a couple of years back didn't he?

Not that I've really got it in for GR but I wonder if Aunty takes any notice of a listeners comments.

Did anyone else feel uncomfortable during the 8:30am interview with Tony Adams.  Truly dreadful.

The man should be stopped.

It's been a bit quiet on the Today programme for Garry. Anyone know what's happened?  I know he usually gets wheeled out to TV for Wimbledon but it's a bit early for that.

Not that I'm complaining about his absence, just wondering if that interview with Tony Adams was even too much for his bosses.

I missed the Adams debacle.  I have no wish to seek it out.

There was a reason I dislike Garry Richardson but I have totally forgotten what it was. Indeed, I have avoided the Toady Prog or so long now that I had actually forgotten his existence until this thread reminded me of it.

I knew I should have kept quiet as who should I hear this morning...

Back, and at his patronising best.

Oh well, it was nice whilst it lasted.

The ONLY difference between Garry Richardson and Alan Partridge is their name.

My sincere apologies to Alan Partridge for my earlier comparison.

I'm at a loss as to what to make of the clip ??? and look what I've done - two mornings running.

I'm going to be more careful with my posting next time.
