My chum Young Master Robert aka Rob English seems to be doing OK so far, at least according to Farcebok.

There aren't many names entered that I recognise. I guess most European riders concentrate on the transcontinental?

I like the fact they put a blue dot showing mike halls record speed, they are all quite a way behind already

Don't suppose anyone knows if it's possible to set the trackleaders page thingy to show distances in Kilometers, these weird units it's using is causing me to have to do too much maths...

I'm new to this - only just found the tracker page*

Who are the riders with 4000 miles already knocked off? That's good going.

They are riding from E-W.

In the main bunch, Jack Petersen aka BurlyCross otp is also making good progress.

Chris Miller who has been on here on the HAMR Amanda Coker thread and I believe has ridden with her quite a bit has had to withdraw after the first day.  Seems he crashed and damaged his knee badly to extent not possible for him to continue.  Real shame.

Jon who has now taken the lead has banked a good bit of sleep.
Looking forward to seeing how Hippy does once he drags himself over the bumpy stuff and into the corn.

Not well, according to his twitter feed

Knee, ankle issues, not happy with his performance and his head not in it. Considering packing.

You should have followed him during the transcontinental.   Wears his heart on his sleeve, but has a habit of making it.

He's doing TCR this year too and I will formally challenge him to a drinking competition during the race.
My beverage will have to be wine though (no wheat)

Stream of pictures from Hippy give the impression of an epic trip https://twitter.com/firsthippy/status/873416589261000705

It's not clear from just dipping in, but I think he's writing off his "race" due to swollen shin/ankle. Anyone know better?  :-\

Great riding on this one. I like how the field is spread across about 5 states: Colorado, Wyoming,  Idaho, Oregon and Total Exhaustion...

Really impressed with Janie Hayes, currently running 5th overall, but has gained 2 places in the last day or so.

Spent a fair bit of time up in Summit county (Breckenridge area) and the air is so thin up there that its an effort to walk up the stairs in a condo. I can't fathom riding a bike up and over the passes at 10 000 feet.

Hopefully Hippy will come good in the next few and be able to crank out some Km's through the corn belt. He sure is a funny dude.

Hippy has dragged his big TT arse over the lumps and is into the corn. Reading his tweets he has had a torrid time of things up there in the high country. He has moved up to 14th place from 17th recently. If he has gas in the tank and can get his TT-head on, there is a bridge of about 150 miles that will put him up with the chase group of 6th through 10th. Go big fellah!
