Snowing here, started about 5 minutes after I got the smoker started and a slab of brisket sat on it.

Oh well, at least the cook will be very low and very slow (3 chicken breasts are still not cooked through after an hour!)

If this keeps up I may get to have a sleep in tomorrow!

It's been snowing on and off here all afternoon - some of it pretty heavy. There's only a little settled on cars and wheelie bins, but it looked impressive as it came down.

Ridiculously, an ice cream van came round in the middle of one of the snow showers!

Well, I can tell you - the wind at the top of Roseberry Topping today was chuffin' FREEZING. The muddy bits on the way up, were hard and crunchy on the way down.

Roseberry is a far cry from the SE.

My understanding is that E. Anglia will be bearing the brunt of Siberian weather for about 3 days, probably making it the coldest and snowiest part of the country. I believe this to be the 3rd time in my almost 64 years on this planet that such conditions are likely.

The forecast I have seen indicates that the Northern Regions are likely to have to wait until Friday before they get inundated.

Of course, there is still time for all this to change and us get none at all, but the Met Office seem unusually insistent that it is going to happen.

Have checked pressure in the Nokian W106 tyres. They're good for snow or hard ice.

On Friday I am supposed to pick up a new car with pimpy 19" wheels and low profile summer tyres. I have 17" wheels and winter tyres for it but they're in my garage. At least it's FWD and it's a flat run home!

Looks like we'll escape the worst of the stuff from the east. We'll cop it later in the week when the depression moves up from the Bay of Biscay and hits the cold air over Wales.
Meanwhile, looks like the current stuff will cause snow in that London. This will mean NEWS.
