Stage 3 of the Tour of Yorkshire 2015 will be a real cracker, it follows (in reverse) some of the roads used in the second stage of last year's TDF but it has a lot of new climbs included.    Most of the route is within striking distance of the Leeds/Bradford conurbation so I can imagine that the crowds will be out in force, certainly something to look forward to.

I now hold the Strava KOM on the finishing straight of Stage 2.  I predict I'll hold it for a bit less than a month!

Anyone else in York on Saturday?

Me! - but you know that ;D

Hoping to catch the Women's race in the morning, and then the men arriving in the City in the afternoon. There's a few other events on in York during the day such as street festivals and a Rowing regatta so I'm sure there will be stuff to do between the two.

Luckily its just a quick 1km pootle from my house to the end of the lane at Gally Gap to watch them fly by.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

My Dad gleefully told me it goes right past their caravan on the edge of Scarborough.   It being a Friday I shall be in London, at work.

It's hailing here today. I hope the weather improves for the weekend. Last weekend was sunny of course ...

For those that can't get to any of the stages (that'll be me, then!), and have Sky (ditto) it is being shown live, each day, on Eurosport2.

Obviously they are showing highlights as well.

I'm in York . . . .

Um do you fancy coordinating this a bit and trying to make a day of it?  I don't live as near to the centre as I used to but I'm pretty close.

Also on ITV4 - live and highlights

(Which I’ll need to record as I shall be one of the motorbike marshals so won't actually get to see much of the race)
I am often asked, what does YOAV stand for? It stands for Yoav On A Velo

Re Tour de Yorkshire, has anyone got a link to the suggested timings for each stage?

Wouldn't it be great, from a planning viewpoint, if the organisers could produce a timings document, put it in a place that the public could easily access then make it easy to find, oh I don't know, some kind of search facility?

Oh waddya know, they have....

The women are off, I'm at the finish,  which is also intermediate sprint point. The announcer has said that the riders are micro chipped so they can be tracked.

Thoroughly enjoyed that on ITV4. Very interesting to get David Millar's take on it as it unfolded, though he's going to have to get his thoughts a bit more organised if he's going to do much of this commentary lark in the future!

Ok could you tell us who got the intermediate sprint? No info here.
