DL and I are a calming and responsible influence on MEMWNS by the looks of some of you lot's previous exploits.

There has been the odd moment or two. Mostly it's been Oaky's fault   ;D

I can only but agree with this comment Ted!  ;D I'm slightly concerned where OD's hand is in that picture and there you were worrying about me...........  ::-)

Nonsense - it's quite obvious that I've been (badly) photoshopped into that last picture!

Either you are being led astray by OD or there is a lot of photoshopping going on around here. ;D

ted, has one of us Old Hands explained "The Oaky Defence" to you?  Being of a legal bent you'll appreciate it more than most.

I think joint enterprise might be the correct legal term here.

Right folks, not sure any of you are particularly interested but I thought I'd give an update on where I am with the new bike....

Frame: 2015 Croix De Fer Stainless
Wheels: Pacenti SL23 on Novatec Hubs with Sapim Strong Spokes.
 - Planning on running them tubeless with the Schwalbe 1 set up, I think
 - Decided against the Dyno Hub for now as I am happy with the Vision 1 light set up.
 - Getting them built as the Cycle Clinic give a cracking Guarantee
Headset: Hope Threadless
 - Decided to go with the hope and forego the FSA one that came with the bike. Do it once do it right and all that.
Bottom Bracket: Hope PF41 - Again spend the extra and hopefully get it right first time
Groupset:Shimano 105 5800 11 Speed
Brakes: TRP HYRD courtesy of a cracking deal with OD (OTP)
Saddle: yet to be decided but I got a loan of a Brooks Cambium C17 Carved which feels good on the commute and will get a longer run out this weekend.
Mudguards: Velo Orange Hammered, Gile Berthoud Stainless or PDW Full Metal fenders all under consideration at the moment.

Bars, seatpost and other finishing items to be decided yet but I feel like the bigger decisions are made. The wheels will be done in about 3 weeks so hopefully I might be able to break the bike out for the Flitch bikes ride.....would it be wrong to ride PBP on a new bike  ::-)

^ DROOL  :P

If the set up, contact points etc are near-as-dammit identical, then go for it. Depends if you're the sort of rider that's very sensitive to slight changes [eg, one Mr E. Merckx, obsessed and constantly tinkered with position and set up] or the type that just gets on with it, not bothered swapping to a team-mates bike mid-ride...

We're all Lotto NL Jumbo on this thread mate.

More interested in Robert Gesink moving into 8th.

Ah, that's why you're not wearing your Etixx Quickstep kit any more.

Uran and Cav been a bit disappointing so far ?

Have you got some Movistar gear as well in case Quintana or Valverde can find some time ?

Are you inferring that I'm a glory seeker.........? I have some Movistar kit to wear from my MADCC buddy Alex Dowsett, I'll try and get him to join us on a MEMWNS so you can show him your TT prowess over 20k!!!!

If he turns up on Carlos's unicycle he might be back with me.

You, a glory seeker, I hadn't even thought about it but if the cap fits...

I'll speak to Froome about becoming a brand ambassador for TRATF i'm sure he would be more than willing

He seems to have all the necessary attributes but I am not sure how much of an ale drinker he is.

Possibly more of a gold beer guy than a porter drinker.
