Popped along to the York Cycle Circuit last night to see what it is like.

Fantastic facility. Very jealous. Even floodlights for night racing.

I live in york and had no idea this existed.

Obviously great publicity.

It's not really open yet. This was the second test event. Do you know where it is? Out by the University sports village.

Anyhow, don't feel bad. Dundee has had a velodrome since 1954. It is a city the same size as York and it is surprising how many people who grew up in Dundee have no idea it is there.

As they have Go-Ride stuff plastered everywhere, are they going to be holding kids races and sessions?

If so I know of a little girl who might be interested (well her father might well persuade her to have a go :) )

That's the plan, yes.  I'll let you know when I hear more.

Cool, please do, the other nearest one to us (M'Bro) is really really over subscribed so just getting a try out is a nightmare!

The M'boro track should become a bit less oversubscribed when the local youth stop trekking up there quite so much once this track's up and running.

Ah, that explains why I saw a few serious-looking roadie types heading in the opposite direction on my way home last night!
