Tour of the Hills: 115 km grimpeur from Shere

This is a really good ride. I am ECEing it from south London in an effort to get RRTY. Some of the hills are really gnarly (Barhatch particularly), but the quality of the catering has to be seen to be believed.

Will hopefully have my wits about me and do the loops in the right order this time...

Very much looking forward to it also - did it the last 2 years and a very well run event it is too.

Was going to be month 11 of AAARtY but I sneaked in an AAA perm on 1st August so I can just enjoy it without anxiously checking every few minutes that I haven't managed to lose my brevet card  :P

Definitely save something for Barhatch at the end, although plenty of steep stuff elsewhere too - see you there!

Returning to it after 5 years so looking? forward to it. Number 3 for GdS this year for me after Down to Downs and perm AAA Milne. Better part of 3 weeks of not riding much so hoping that I haven’t lost too much. Barhatch came as a bit of a shock last time, so will know what’s coming this time round!

A drizzly start but thankfully became some lovely sunshine by noon. My plans to ECE it fell through (missed my alarm and got the train there...) but had such a lovely time that I rode back anyway. Seemed like a quiet ride owing to the coinciding French ride but well supported by brilliant volunteers nonetheless.
