He'll pass my 2014 cycling + driving within the week.
Not especially helpful or mature

Probably around 8,500 miles for 2014 - no pooters on any of my bikes any more - so, sometime in early February for Steve to munch that up

My mileage since records began* is 75,000-and-something, so he'll be passing that at some point.

Maybe I should make my target for this year to increase that figure to a point where he won't overtake it...

2014 wasn't great, he passes my distance for that today...
2013 was much better, but he'll still pass that at some point early feb...
As for lifetime, I guess before the end of spring he'll pass that too...

most of my friends cannot comprehend my mileage, what Steve is doing is truly amazing and humbling

Steve will pass my mileage last year very early in March.

HK's will be in late March or early April. Steve'll not pass her recorded lifetime mileage even if he goes for the 100,000. Her recorded distance is around double that, with yearly distances before sometime in the 1990s not recorded.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

January 23rd. And most of those miles were commuting. No hills, no ice, no wind, lots of moaning. Very few sausages! He's also going twice as fast as me.
Not overly audacious

I reckon he will have now passed my expected mileage for this year, and that's with me now commuting by bike and allowing for utility and leisure riding  :-[

When did Steve overtake your combines mileages for 2014 + 2013 + 2012 + 2011 + 2010 +2009 + 2008 + 2007 + 2006 ?

For mine he will overtake me in June/July timeframe.

That's pretty much ALL my cycling since I got back into it 9 years ago.  Just 6 months to Steve.
Some people say I'm self-obsessed but that's enough about them.

When did Steve overtake your combines mileages for 2014 + 2013 + 2012 + 2011 + 2010 +2009, asked Lee

For me, Steve will pass the 11K miles I have done in that time towards the end of Feb/start of March....  :o So, six years to me is less than three months to Steve!

Got to say, the mileage he is putting in is outstanding!!!!

My previous 6 years mileage is 48400, so I expect Steve to pass that in July.

I only started cycling again in 2008, so only have 2014 + 2013 + 2012 + 2011 + 2010 +2009 + 2008.  He'll pass my meagre mileage (16770) sometime in March, I reckon.

Steve will match my 2014 milage of 11147km on or around February 6th. (And almost all of my non-cycling friends are convinced my cycling has got completely out of control....)
If you can't convince, confuse.

If I've counted up correctly. And having recorded my cycling in three different places over the years, some of them concurrently, my lifetime mileage is about 24400 miles (well since starting cycling again at uni in 2006 - I don't imagine my childhood/teen mileage making a huge difference even though I cycled a lot then (most of it was trying to ride over/off things rather than get anywhere)).

That really really puts what Steve and Kurt are trying to do into perspective.  :o
Miles cycled 2014 = 3551.5 (Target 7300 :()
Miles cycled 2013 = 6141.4
Miles cycled 2012 = 4038.1

Slightly OT, but I just realised that Steve was on his bike yesterday (and most if not all days this year) for longer than I've been on mine all year!

He's past my 5668 miles for 2014! Probably surpassed my climbing as well!

You obviously ride too fast  ;D

I've ridden 260 miles in a little under 34 hours this year.

Some comparative statistics from the National Travel Survey*:

Steve overtook the average annual distance cycled by all adults at 4am, 1st January (49 miles).

Steve overtook the average annual distance travelled by car as either driver or passenger on 28th January (5,070 miles).

Steve will probably overtake the average annual distance travelled by all modes, including walking, driving, domestic flight, cycling and public transport, on Thursday 5th February (6,584 miles).

If he hits his target by the end of the year, Steve will have cycled further than the average adult travels in around 12 years.

I aten't kept a log but I expect he passed my 2014 cycling total on January 1st and my all-modes in BRITAIN total inside a fortnight.  I'm only ahead by the dubious virtue of my CO2-hostile holibobs.

Possibly one for a separate thread but when will Steve overtake your Eddington number.  Up until about the end of May his Eddington number will be going up by one per day (until he starts to eliminate his shortest rides, currently 149 miles).  So he will pass mine in the second half of April - by which time he will have done more long rides this year than I have in my lifetime.

I think Steve's Eddington number is already in the high 100s.
