Tyre width help

Looking to run if I can narrower tyres on the Sirrus the rims are Alex 622x18 could I get away with 25 or would I need to stick with 28's.

I'm inclined to ask why you would want to run narrower tyres?

Increasingly they seem to offer less comfort and no speed advantage in comparison to equivalent tyres in a bigger width?

It it were me I'd just try it, but others will have more experience of skinny tyres on wide rims than me.

should be possible. test ride it first, the feeling with skinny tires in a wide rim is very different compared to what you are use too.

..is a very conservation interpretation of the received (old skool) wisdom on the internal width of a rim and what size tyre suits

in recent years opinions have altered somewhat.  Running narrow tyres with wider rims is considered a good thing.  For example, the Velocity A23 has an internal width of 17.5mm and is considered good to use with 23mm tyres.
