ETA: in fact it is almost exactly 2 years (last time was 6 Aug 2016)

Just in case anyone has been living under a rock lately a bivvy night is being planned for a week today (31st) You know you want to
Since Jibbers seems to have deserted us for the West Country (I'm sure he'll return looking even more like a Wurzel, singing, "I'm in love with my combine harvester"), are there any plans for this week's Wednesday night?
I think the Chappel beer festival is next week.

Or...TCMR might be tempted so how about The Cats or Hurdlemakers?
Is TCMR coming out with you or without you?

A quick search and there appears to be only one The Cats pub in Essex, in Maldon. That suits me, as I'm unable to make it this week due to an evening teleconference.

They don't have a website, they haven't even got a till, once you've met Wally you'll understand why. Not that I'm inferring any criticism, Wally is a top chap.

Not that I'm inferring any criticism, Wally is a top chap.Neither do they have diversity of beer And as for Merlot, you'll have Wally's single sized glass of house red and be happy!!
But they have beer and as it's August no doubt the log burner will be roaring away and The Cats, at its best, is a pub experience which is hard to find in these days of uniform, Farrow & Ball decorated pubs
