I know you said you didn't want to ride a Perm, but don't discard them.
There is the North Somerset 100 which starts I beleive in Long Ashton.

I just noticed this thread...

I would be happy to come along on a ride and share the pulling / pass the miles...  (Being Bristol based as well)

I have done a perm now, and they are not that much harder to sort out than a calendar.

It would be a lot easier in a group, too...

I thought there was a version of the Avon Cycleway 130 under perms, but I can't find it..
I’ve decided I’m not old. I’m 25 .....plus shipping and handling.

Centurion Challenge & Super Grimpeur rides are on Oct. 15 (not a million miles from Brizzle).

Or possibly ride the North Somerset Perm as a group of YACFers on the following Saturday, just a tentative suggestion at this stage !

I've just noticed this thread.
All I have to say is - watch out, Smurph Boy, soon you'll be sleeping in bus shelters!  :o

Also, today I took my son, with several of his friends, to see The Smurfs in 3D at the Odeon. I didn't spot you in it!

I think I'm only in the 2D version - we couldn't agree a fee for my extra dimension ;)

My issue with Perms is the massive temptation to pack it in or just roll over and sleep in rather than get up and ride.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm back on the bike on Friday for a pootle round Bristol and I'll see how much I've lost in six weeks off the bike and take a view.

But I think - assuming I'm ok on Friday - that I'll enter the Wizard and Llamas and Tasty Cheddar and then do a Perm - North Somerset 100 looks within my capabilities.
