The Scottish Olympic Parade

The crowds gather

Right to Left:
Chris Hoy - 3 cycling gold medals
Katherine Grainger - rowing silver
Ross Edgar - cycling silver
David Florence - canoeing silver

Since when were the police allowed funky facial hair? And that bobby could do with getting on a bike...

The crowds follow the bus to Holyrood (at which point I had to head back to the office)

Ooooh!

About the same number of people that turned out to see the Queen in 1977!
It is simpler than it looks.

Funky facial hair came with gay rights.

At that point they were all up front - I would have been miffed too if they'd come past with Hoy being interviewed!

Funky facial hair came with gay rights.

Given Lothian and Borders police winning of some award for its gay rights record that would explain a lot...  :P

<hoy>The two are not mutually exclusive</hoy>

I think we now know why they had it at an awkward time for people to turn up and watch...

You are Rev. Ian Paisley AICMFP! This parade is an outrage!

It's interesting that so many comments have been attributed to Hoy about the Scottish/British thing but when you see the actual interview is exactly that 'not mutually exclusive' point that he makes. We like to see things as polarised, when 99.9999999% of the time they really aren't.
