I'm sad to see the young'un go he did good. I have truly enjoyed our time with him. But the fare thee well was rather meh. I would have liked a wee bit more with the new fella.

You're all a bunch of miserable bastards, I thought it was great.

Actually, I'm a very jolly bastard. But Doctor Who was shite.

A pile of pointless wibble. Only barely worth watching for the usual 2 decent minutes (i.e. Matt Smith's wonderous quips, and Clara's wonderous skirts)....

Bah! And Humbug.
+1. And  for the skirts.

I really tried to like it but found myself utterly bored. I almost fell asleep, which is most unusual for me during Doctor Who. Moffat seems to be particularly bad at writing compelling female characters at the moment. Tasha, who holds important meetings on her bed, was like an unimaginative River Song without the catchphrases and Clara... well. She's so incredibly dull. Moffat must spend most of his time writing stage directions for her skirts instead of proper dialogue for her mouth.

I'm surprised that it got so many positive reviews in The Newspapers.

It had some good bits, but overall it was pretty poor.

Tosh - plot holes and inconsistencies galore.

Hopefully a new Doctor will mean a new writing team.

Not sure I liked the sneaking in of the "reboot" gift from Gallifrey where they gave another 12 regenerations, thus allowing for 50 years.

We all knew that was going to happen.  They've not let plot get in the way of the show yet.

Would have been good if they'd used it as an excuse to change the Doctor's race or gender, though.  (Yes, I'm still thinking of Sandi Toksvig)

The episode seemed to lack a decent story, just appearing to be more like a series of loosely connected sketches.

It did have many nice little bits, but lacked continuity.  I did like the wooden Cyberman, and I'm sure there are other novel bits, I need to watch it again, although that may just highlight the inconsistencies and plot holes.

It was always going to have to be a bit contrived, to solve things like running out of regenerations, but it does seemed to have made rather more of a mess than you'd think was strictly necessary.

If we have to wait until Autumn, that's rather poor.  We've been waiting for quite a while recently anyway, just getting the 50th anniversary and this Christmas special.  I'm afraid this Christmas special has really let done the recent history of many good seasonal specials. :(

Ah well, where are the CD and Blurays. :D
Actually, it is rocket science.
