Were those new Daleks styled onna Renault Megane?  They've got awfully big arses.

I thought that.  I'm not keen on the new stye Daleks but am curious what children think of them - old style Daleks deliberately had a Nazi Panzer thing going on.  Perhaps as the Airfix Generation ages, that's not a relevant/scary concept anymore.

I was expecting the last Spitfire to fly up the Dalek's spout, so to speak... what, it wasn't an ID4 homage?

I may have to get "Can I get you a cup of tea?" as my ringtone!

I already have a Dalek saying "Bollocks!" as my text message alert, so the 'cup of tea' as a ringtone will, from my experience, cause huge amounts of amusement.

What it reminded me of most was the attack on the Death Star in the original Star Wars.

Yeah, I really don't like them. Way too chunky. They're supposed to be sleek fighting machines, not Hummvees.

And how come they emerged from the Progenitor in their fully formed fat-arsed pepper pots? Surely they should have emerged as flabby pink aliens, then to be inserted in the pepper pot.

But I'm being too picky. It is a kids' programme, after all...

Btw, my TV writer friend has already seen next week's episode and reckons it's "the first stone-cold classic of the new series".

...which, of course, was consciously modelled on the Battle of Britain, so things come full circle and I just hop up and down on the sofa with glee. ;D

I just wish they'd got Patrick Stewart (as he is in Extras) to write an episode, her clothes would be falling off constantly!!

I was waiting for them to find a channel to fly along for the 'crucial' shot.

Power Ranger Daleks. At least that was the view of my kids.
I thought they'd been made by Apple.  i-Daleks.

My kids were disgusted.

What's with all the touchy-feely stuff, anyway?  What happened to the Doctor Who did a bit of neat sabotage, quick pop round the back of the dalek, rewire, etc.

Daleks aren't scary anymore. They can't stop talking.

the Angels coming back promises to be a bit better. Maybe Ms Pond will think of the close one eye at a time trick, or she'll hold up a mirror.

I don't know what I lust over more: her shoes, or her pistol/blowtorch multitool.

Great episode. However...

Am I the only one who has already registered a complaint about the ridiculous onscreen graphic advertising Over The Rainbow that appeared in the closing scenes? Or were you all watching on analogue?

Those fecking graphics annoy me at the best of times - they're never necessary or welcome. But when they slap a large, colourful, animated graphic on the screen that obscures and distracts from the action of a tense, exciting scene, that really is taking the piss. Someone deserves to get fired.

Totally ruined it for me. I'm sure I'm overreacting but I am furious.   >:( >:( >:(

Yeah there was no need for that vacuous trailer when I was trying to read the credits. I did catch that it was Mike Skinner as the security guard though ("jeez, that looks like that Streets guy"). Who played the bishop? Looked kinda familiar.

That's the kind of episode I could watch for two hours, shame we have to wait a week now.

Yeah there was no need for that vacuous trailer when I was trying to read the credits.

Never mind that, I'm talking about a dirty great animated graphic that appeared on the screen during the closing scene when the Doctor was talking to the dead soldier over the radio. Quite simply the most inappropriate use of onscreen advertising graphics I have ever seen.

You may not have seen it if you were watching on analogue.
