For those who weren't treated to the sight of an animated Graham Norton dancing over Matt Smith's exciting speech, here's a screen grab:

That was pretty good, although splitting it into two Episodes is a bit annoying, at least I hope it's only two Episodes, any more and I'll want to throttle someone!

I did like the bit at the start, with River using that artefact to send a message to the Doctor, and then just jumping out of the airlock!

Is it just me, or is River being quite so smug about knowing some things a little irritating?  She comes across as a bit condescending, although I guess that's meant to be deliberate, since it's normally the Doctor who behaves like that.

I'm glad I watched it on iPlayer, so didn't have that fairly irritating trailer across the screen.  I've noticed that on quite a few US shows which I may have <cough> watched here, somehow. ;D
Actually, it is rocket science.

Of course River Song could be the Doctor?

In the Library she said they were married. What sort of relationship are you having if you marry your future/past self?  ???

Rhys, apparently it wasn't shown on BBC NI, Scotland or Wales, or on BBC HD - only English viewers got it. (you're in Wales, right?)

AHA.....

In last nights episode when they are discussing the Church - there is a several line discussion about the ban on self-marrying!

That was the first time I have watched it "live" on TV, so I assumed such irritations were standard. I shall certainly go back to watching it on iPlayer in the future.  >:(

Oh, that explains it. The BBC have had thousands of complaints apparently, I doubt they'll do it again.

The Crack TM is doing my head in. Everywhere I look, I see it. My desk has one, there's a small one on my garage wall. But the worst one is on a cardboard box that my cat keeps attacking. It is identical and I'm thinking my cat may be some evil alien! It is real people! Look out!
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

Firstly:
What a F****** brilliant episode. I have almost nothing to criticise. Proper scary, brilliant gags. Well worth waiting 3 average shows for.

(p.s. why doesn't Ms Pond LOOK tall - does she just have a clever costume team? )

Moving on:

Yes, that was sh1te. Sackings should result.

They do this in american shows, and it's not a MAJOR problem. This is because US shows normally have 5 minutes of light-hearted wrap-up at the end (viewers brains are exhausted after 47 mins with a mere 17 of adverts, so lets not ask too much eh?).
Virgin have got a delightful one with a little demon erecting the sign.

But in the scene the Beeb used it on: FuckTards! Utter DalekFrotters.

The Crack TM is doing my head in. Everywhere I look, I see it.
I didn't even notice this week's. Either I've filtered them out, or there wasn't one. Good news either way!

I *love* how infuriatingly smug the redoubtable Dr Song is.  When you're fecking around with time, you're bound to be confident, aren't you?
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

For some strange reason, the angels don't scare me - I just look at them and think of sledgehammers.

Pond is getting better and better; this could be the best assistant ever (and I've been watching D Who since pre-Pertwee days).

It reminded me of Alien and Aliens a bit.  Alien has just one monster, and a load of civilians, and is very scary; Aliens has hundreds of monsters as well as marines and is more action than scary.

Best episode of the series so far (no coincidence that it is the first one written by Moffit?).  Will probably benefit from being over two episodes - less rushed, more able to get some texture into it.

Don't think so - he is in the titles as Series Head Honcho (or similar), but has only written very few of this series. I think.
