Nice bit of recycling - PC fan grills on the back of the helmets....carrying on the traditions of BBC scifi sfx

I did wonder if they were meant to be part of the costume, or simply there to keep the faceplates from misting up while filming and meant to be hidden?  :)

Yes I noticed that and thought it was a bit.... shit.

Ah, or was it supposed to be ironic?

With BBC special effects, you're on a safe bet if you go for "a bit shit" over "ironic" most days...
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Does this mean [gulp] that we're finally rid of ... her?

(Only just watched the rerun)

Doubt it: they'd have made a lot more song and dance if that was true.

Spolier ('cos I can't work out how to format them properly):

I assume she's been "saved" as a biography, along with all the other people, including the little girl.

That was the best episode this series. I was out on Saturday night so watched it when I got back, alone, in the dark.

Big mistake.

I wonder if I'll ever grow out of being scared?

Perhaps not, but at least you now know tha it's not an irrational terror.

Given how good 'Blink' was, I was a little disappointed. The way the people were all got together in the library just seemed to be all about the situation with no believable backstory - 'well, we've got these people in a library, never mind how they got there, just so long as they are...' Nice touch with the lovely Ms Kingston as the mysterious future Doctor / Companion / Timelord (who knows...?). It wasn't really tense enough, that was the main problem - it needed some suspense.

I really hope Donna is dead too, but I bet she isn't...   >:( ;)

Me too, Kirst. Excellent, nail-biting stuff.

Poor Donna, losing her beau... Though tbh, she didn't look for him very hard ;)

They might find each other again another time.

So, was River the doctor's future wife, or a future regeneration of him?

Oh, she can't be a future regeneration of him because you can't have two lots of doctor together at once or the universe blows up or something. Someone on the Doctor Who forums is suggesting that he told her his real name when he was dying - the Doctor said in tonight's ep that there would only be one time when he could tell her his real name, so maybe that was it. Or a wedding.

You can have more than one doctor at once, there was the 5 doctors episodes and the 3 doctors episodes.

The original doctor had a granddaughter as a companion, so he must have had a family at some point.

Sack all of the doctor who script writers apart from him and give him free rein to do as he wishes; that man is a genius!

Ah but on those the timelords frigged it so that they could all come together at once....the three docs were at Omeg's tomb where things don't work like in the real world, the recent two docs were in a tardis, the five docs were brought throught he matrix IIRC (no, not that matrix, the galafray one), and the two docs with the spud 'eds...well that was Jim Davidson when they didn't care about the integrity of the universe if it meant getting a few more viewers.  No timelords or matrix now* so it'd be a bit tricky.  Anyhow, if she were he then she'd have know what the solution was from the start and there'd have been a lot less faffing.

* well, yes, "now" is relitive to a timelord....but that leads on to the whole bag o'fish about why thetimelords were wied out if they knew what was going to happen in the future.....a slight problem that I don't think the script writers will want to tackle.

As for the Dr's name...I think that Steven Moffat is probably one of the few fans of the later Sly McCoy episodes...Silver Nemisis dropped a bit of a vague hint.

Well, that wrapped things up quite nicely. And anything with Alex Kingston in is worth watching. She is quality. Donna is now acquiring some depth and vulnerability which is making her a much better character. Maybe it is also a case of Catherine Tate slowly becoming a better actor.

BTW, did everyone read about David Tennant's on-set relationships? I thought he was still with the lass who played Madame de Pompadour, but it turns out that he left her for one of the production team, then moved on to another, and now he's dating the lass who played his daughter!  :-\ ;)

Future wife.

Definitely.

Brilliant pair of episodes.
