Can't be, really. As he was trapped in the Time War until he was pulled out in series 4. However the Doctor's Daughter is also at least partially a Time Lord, capable of regeneration, so theoretically could have passed on that ability to her children, I suppose. I suspect it's either River Song, who may turn out not to be human, as she once said she was in prison for killing the greatest man who ever lived (and if she married him we can assume she thinks he's the best); or it's Song's child. I dunno. This is Moffat. I've given up trying to predict Moffat. He leaves loose ends all over the place and destroys the universe (only sort of, if Rory can still remember the universe that never was) to sort it out instead of tying them up into a coherent whole.

My son laughed when River did her twirly shooty thing. And not in a good way. I think that sums it up for me. Very disappointing.

I didn't like the way they told the story out of order either. The resolution of last week's cliffhanger was handled particularly badly.

What did it for me was that we had an entire series of build-up going on about 'the Silence will fall', only for the Silence (spelled Silents, apparently) to be a bunch of Greys. Or a sort of Grey-Ood crossover. And that deliberate use of 'fell from the sky' to sow emotional melodrama was lazy writing. To me it's starting to feel like when they remade the Italian Job and I'm hoping this is just because they were targetting American producers with these episodes.

So they managed to inspire a revolution against the Silence. But the Doctor's death hasn't been averted. That could still happen. He knows nothing about it. Amy & Rory & River still know it will happen in the future and the little girl is on the loose. But if she has regeneraty powers, could that make the Doctor not die?

Something else unresolved (as far as I can see) is the woman with a silver eye patch Amy saw at the window in the door of the spooky attic room in the orphanage. She said "I think she's dreaming" or similar.

Yep, confused as heck here as well, though I did enjoy it, agree the speech for the Silents was hard to hear, etc, but overall has promise. I hope they don't go too far though, it was definitely straying into 'too clever for their own good' territory.

That line about the dream....oh I do hope we don't find that they cop out by having Amy dreaming all of this.
