Lost Zwift ride
« on: 13 November, 2020, 03:08:03 pm »
Battery ran out on my iPad mid ride so it won't upload to Strava and the companion app tells me the ride is still going on! Obviously if it's not on Strava then it never happened :)

I've tried uploading  the .FIT file from the app but Strava tells me it's unreadable.

Any thoughts?

What happens if you press the stop button on the companion app?

And does it show as an activity in your Zwift profile?

It’s now stopped in the companion app and I can see it in my profile but can’t see how to upload.

Can you log into Zwift via a web browser, and find your ride data there?  You may be able to download the data and manually upload it to Strava or wherever you upload your ride data.

On my laptop the ride is saved locally which I can manually upload.

Tried that but as I said Strava reports the .fit file to be corrupted.

It is probably worth having a go with one (or more) of the fit file repair tools that are available.

Try the '3x tap on the Zwift logo' trick from here: https://zwiftinsider.com/retrieve-lost-ride/

Thanks, that allowed me to find the fit file which I later found to be corrupted. As I can’t open that ride in a browser on the Zwift site it seems well and truly broken. I’ve got a close idea of the distance etc. and I’ve entered it manually into Strava so I’m going to give up now. Otherwise I’ll spend more time fixing the data than I actually spent exercising.

I’ve also just put a spare charger in the garage to avoid a repeat of this.
