That's one of my favourite bridges and largely responsible for my (shortlived) university choice. :D

Hang on lads and lasses a bridge or a big 'un is the largest span between two  abutments . A lot of small bridges joined together is simply a causeway, often crossing a valley with a river. There are many in the UK.

If I remember correctly the longest unsupported bridge span was or is in Japan but Wiki may disagree :D
