... I'm suffering from the side effects of a change in medication. Gliclazide may be a good oral anti-diabetic drug, but the side-effects suck big sweaty balls.

If it's effective, how come you're still posting?   ;D

Side note, one of my students is diabetic, and towards the end of the lesson his expression had changed slightly and his character too. I think something like a bit of excess cheeriness that I recognise in myself sometimes, so I asked him if his BGs were low. He reckoned nah, but tested a little while later. 1.8. Eeek!!!

Absolutely shattered.  Plus I took a look out the window.  *shudder*

Then again, by the time I had gone one stop on the Tube I was having second thoughts.

Rotten man flu cold.  At least the monsoon has abated, I'm walking to work and don't have to sit in a metal box though.

(yesterday)
I forgot the key to the lock.
On the day the busses put the fares up. After a crappy day when a ride would have been just the thing.

Still tired from the weekend, but more importantly, feel the onset of teh lurgy.  I could have cycled, but don't want to give this bug any chances to get worse.  At least the Tube was bearable this morning.

The weather-man said it would be rainy.  I used to have no option but a 1 hour ride; I relished riding in all weathers.

Now I have a 35-mile commute (each way, in theory...) it seems 2h15 of cycling in the rain before a day of work is pushing the machismo a bit...

Hope Mrs WW is ok. It's amazing how callous unhelpful some employers can be. :(

Best wishes to the wws from me too. Boo to shit employers.

I would have cycled in to work today but I popped back into bed for a quick snuggle after turning my alarm off and woke up to the other half's alarm  ::-) I must admit to often deciding not to cycle and getting some more sleep but twas an accident today.

Still, at least I took the motorbike in rather than the car.

ZOOOOOM!!!!
Miles cycled 2014 = 3551.5 (Target 7300 :()
Miles cycled 2013 = 6141.4
Miles cycled 2012 = 4038.1

By some quirk of mismanagement combined with dropping people off at railway stations and being called back in to work last night to sort out flooding, I found this morning that:

1) My commuter bike was still in the office from last night
2) My spare bikes were all locked in the garage at home ... but the garage keys were on my desk at work
3) The car is at home, but the car keys appear to be in London

so I walked - only to get doored as a pedestrian whilst squeezing past a white van, which was half parked on the pavement. The driver opened his door as I was passing, realised what he'd done (I suspect) and drove off at speed when I went down. I'm not really sure quite what happened, but I appear to have gashed my bald patch (on the door mirror on the way down?).

The annoying thing is that I've only just started riding my bike again this week after 3 weeks off for a sprained neck. It's starting to piss me off that it's the second time in the last few months that I've been doored as a pedestrian when passing vehicles parked half on / half off the pavement.
