Despite a mild hangover (evidence of a social life - good news in itself!) I went to Bradford today, with NO children, and had a whole day to myself. I saw many people with heavily loaded bikes getting off the train. No idea what they were up to, although one had a banner about climate change, but they all seemed cheerful and returned my nod&smile despite my having absolutely no visible signs of belonging to the people-who-like-two-wheels-and-pedalling-club. I mooched around Bradford town centre in pleasant weather without having to think about anybody else's needs at all. I pootled aroung the National Media Museum looking at whatever I fancied. I had a delicious lunch in the museum cafe on my own whilst reading a good book, and the nice bloke in the cafe sold me a large coffee with an extra espresso shot for the hangover for the price of a small ordinary coffee, which I drank whilst watching the rain that wasn't getting me wet because I was indoors sitting on a comfy sofa, reading and people watching. I saw some really lovely films as part of the Animation Festival. My friend won an award in the Young Animators competition. I got a nice seat, with a table, on the train there and on the train home and there were no obnoxious grumpy people at all on the train.
I had a lovely day. Although I do still feel very slightly hungover....
